New Sunday Morning Bible Study: Grace

GraceStarting April 10 we have a new Bible Study opportunity! Max Lucado’s book ‘Grace’ explores the amazing grace of God and how the seemingly simple concept of grace can affect change in powerful ways.

Kevin Livingston will lead the study, using the book as a guide, as we discuss the many wonders of God’s grace. We also expect to learn more about each other and be able to take the grace we receive and reflect it outwards to the community!

There’s also fair probability of baked goods and good conversation on any given Sunday morning. The class welcomes adult, college and young adult, high school, and middle school participation. We hope to see you there!

We are close to our Penny Project challenge goal!

Pennies collected to date: 85,782.

We are close to our $928 goal!

The Penny Project seeks to raise awareness of the extent of child poverty throughout the United States and Puerto Rico, and support for programs and ministries responding to the needs of children in poverty.

The FBC mission committee weighed the opportunities for FBC and determined we would raise $928.00 to pay for one week of lunches for our summer lunch program. That will be 92,800 pennies toward the 16 million penny goal.

There will be collection canisters available so bring us the coins (paper too) you have collected around the house and office, and let’s live up to the challenge. Please see co-chairs Robbie Pierre and Eugene Hickok if you have any questions.

family. You are all welcome!

There will be a sign-up poster displayed in our Welcome Area. Sign-ups are needed in order to ensure we have enough food. More details will follow, but if there are any questions please contact Vallee Albert, banquet coordinator, at 587-2872.

SouperBowl Sunday, Feb. 7 after worship service

souper bowlMany football fans are looking forward to watching the Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 7. In conjunction with this popular event, the mission team will sponsor its own “Souperbowl” that day in the gathering area after our service. All boards/committees of the church have been asked to prepare a Crockpot of soup/chowder/chili for sampling, and you are invited to come for a taste, or several tastes. The ‘cost’ for this delicious fun is a can of soup (or some other food donation) which will be placed in our Food Pantry.

There will be a friendly competition to see who made the best soup/chowder/chili, so don’t forget to vote before you leave. Come and sample our delicious fare and learn more about each board/committee.
