What is worship like?

When you come to worship on Sunday mornings, you will see people dressed in a variety of ways. Some dress casually and others trendy. Some come right from the night shift work and others wear a suit.  We really aren’t worried how formal or informal your attire is, but that you are here!

Many Sundays you will experience:

  • Contemporary songs  accompanied by guitar and piano.
  • Traditional hymns with organ or piano
  • A sermon that will engage worshipers to deeper faith with practical application
  • A children’s parable for kids preschool to 5th grade
  • Old and New Testament scriptures from the Bible
  • A worship guide that clearly outlines the worship service
  • A mix of unison prayers and pastoral led prayers
  • Choir and song leaders leading music
  • A greeting time where the congregation welcomes one another

People often wonder, “I’m new. What can I expect when I come to First Baptist?” Good question! You can expect:

  • For our people to be warm and engaging
  • An intergenerational church made up of infants, children, youth, adults, and senior adults
  • A focus on life long discipleship rather than quick conversions  to the Christian life
  • Christ centered beliefs
  • Worship that uses includes ancient, traditional, and modern styles
  • Preaching and teaching from the Word of God that is applicable
  • Congregational structure and beliefs from a Baptist tradition
  • Bible studies and small groups that engage and grow the believer
  • A church concerned for the needs of the community
